Friends of Mostyn Street are a Community Action Group dedicated to the uplifting & renewal of Llandudno, Queen of the Welsh Resorts.
Friends of Mostyn Street is a Brand New, ‘Boots on the Ground’ Community Action Group, which is made up of business owners & managers & community minded folk of all ages and backgrounds.
Brought together with the shared desire to care for Llandudno’s townscape and green spaces, to support local businesses; build community links and encourage friendships with innovative projects. These aims are at our core and keep us motivated week in, week out.
So what does’Boots on the Ground’ look like?
Volunteers out in the Town Centre Every Week from March to November. Cleaning, Sweeping, Litterpicking, Weeding & Painting Street Furniture. Helping Visitors find their way around as many of us have intentionally qualified as Wales Tourism Ambassadors this winter to brush up our knowledge.
Working with our local council departments to ensure safety & proper equipment to do the job, we’re about ‘Grafting Not Whingeing’: waiting about for Someone else to do it or saying ‘why don’t the council do this or that?’ means Nothing gets done & standards slide… Councils Are struggling & we can’t fix that but we Can look after our Communities & Town.
We’re All about Positivity &’Uplifting our m whole area’. We have over 20 regular volunteers each week & partner up with business staff, Llandudno Under 12s Football Team the Swifts, Royal British Legion& St David’s Hospice, Jaguar Land Rover amongst many others. Folk seem to like what we do & keep coming because ‘we do what we say we will’ & we Always Finish the Job!
Join us Every Weds 5.30 til 6.30pm all around the Town, between March & November. Each week’s meeting location is published on our Facebook group as we move around a lot.
